Here is my personal tale of artistic rediscovery.
As a self-taught painter, my journey with art began at a young age. I realized that I could paint and draw when I was at school when others started admiring what I did. I did it because it was pure fun and joy. I never realized that I could paint a few paintings later in my life.
In those early years, my passion for art was clear. I put my heart into every piece, and my work was often recognized and celebrated by my school and peers. But as life went on, other priorities took over – the pull of technology, family responsibilities, and the demands of adulthood.
For a while, my brushes lay unused, gathering dust somewhere in the loft. But the desire to create never really left me. It stayed quietly in the background, waiting for the right time to come back. After years of focusing on family and career, I found myself drawn back to the easel, wanting to reconnect with the passion that had always been a part of me. It was a journey to rediscover my love for painting, to bring back the joy of creating that I had once known. However, there was a self doubt. I wasn't sure if I am good enough. It took me time to understand what is the true meaning of enjoying what you do.
I now feel, that there isn't anything called 'Best painting style'. Everyone has a unique style, and no style is inherently good or bad. As they say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." This is especially true when it comes to art. You never know what others will appreciate until one day you see people liking what you do. Never give up until that point. When you see so many artists, it can be overwhelming, and you might start doubting if you're any good. But in my mind, one must start from self. If you enjoy and like what you do, one day others will too. And even if they don't, how does it matter? You enjoyed creating that masterpiece, right?
Along the way, I realized an important truth: it's never too late to pursue what you love. Whether you're just starting out or picking up where you left off, finding your painting style is a deeply personal journey.
It's about embracing your unique view of the world, honoring the experiences that have shaped you, and giving yourself the freedom to create without fear or hesitation. It's about seeing beauty in imperfection, finding strength in vulnerability, and enjoying the freedom of self-expression.
To all the aspiring artists out there, I want to say this: don’t let time or life's demands stop you from doing what you love. Whether you're painting at sunrise or late at night, creating masterpieces or simply enjoying the act of painting, know that your journey matters, your voice is important, and your art reflects the beauty inside you.
